MONTELIMAR
These woman are being marched to prison as collaborators in Montelimar by the F.F.I.. Their fate will most likely include the shaving of their heads. The photographer's caption, duly notes the irony of them primping for the camera. The battle was almost over by August 30 when the 3rd and 36th divisions swept the Montelimar battle square taking 2,000 prisoners. The following day, the 142nd Regiment reached the Rhone River, secured the Drome River crossing at Loriol and Livron, and captured 650 more prisoners.
