COLMAR - 1945
3rd Infantry Division Clubmobile
The action in the Colmar Pocket ended with the fall of Colmar and Neuf Brisach on February 8, 1945. Flo Wick wrote of the action the crew witnessed near Beblenheim where they visited a "Doggie Rest Camp" where soldiers could get off the line for a few minutes of rest to clean up and compose. She wrote of the crew "darting in and out of smoke screens" and driving through enemy territory. On one visit to a battalion CP, she commented that the men refused to come out because of the potential of drawing artillery fire.
