The resistance for the 7th Regiment's Battle Patrol was the fiercest for the 3rd Division in clearing guns at Le Cap and La Vigie. This enemy pillbox on a shore road at Cavalaire was one of the obstacles. Seven waves went ashore at 0850, amphibious tanks stopped a German counterattack and Gen. O'Daniel came ashore at 1040.
