A DUKW named "Eppie" tows a 15th Regiment vehicle from the perils of the surf at Yellow Beach. The piled-on GIs serve as ballast. More than 21,000 of the six-wheeled, 7.5-ton, 31-foot long DUKWs were manufactured.
