ISOLA BELLA - ANZIO BEACHHEAD
The assault on Cisterna at the end of January was centered around Isola Bella where both the 4th Rangers and the 3rd Division's 15th Regiment operated along the Conca-Isola Bella-Cisterna road before being stopped at Isola Bella. The 3rd Division had attempted to take Cisterna a few days earlier with no result.
