AUDIE MURPHY - YAKIMA 1955
Florence Wick and Audie Murphy at the Yakima film location of Murphy's "To Hell and Back" in 1955. Murphy is said to have recognized Flo in a crowd of spectators and approached her with a greeting about doughnuts. Murphy was one of the soldiers Flo's Clubmobile unit served during WWII. A photo taken by Flo Wick during Murphy's Medal of Honor ceremony in Salzburg was given to Murphy's film crew and used as a reference for the scene in the movie. When it was put out on the newswire, it became a much reproduced image.
