ANZIO

The full invasion force consisted of the U.S. 3rd Infantry Division; British 1st Infantry Division and 46th Royal Tank Regiment; U.S. 751st Tank Battalion; 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment and 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion; two British Commando battalions; and 3 battalions of U.S. Army Rangers. The U.S. 45th Infantry Division and Combat Command A, a regimental-size unit of the U.S. 1st Armored Division, landed as reinforcements.
