ROME, ITALY 1944
3rd Infantry Division Clubmobile
The Clubmobile crew moved from a dusty camp to an Italian villa offering the grounds, bedrooms, kitchen, and bath for the crew. Flo Wick wrote that it was by the generosity of the wealthy anti-fascist owner that had lost his family to the Germans and she went on to describe the experience: "... we truly live like princesses in a fairy tale". Flo also indicated that the doughnut operation was yet to find full momentum and the crew had lots of time between Clubmobile duties and some of that was spent working with the local Red Cross Service Club. The 3rd Division was in place as the garrison force for Rome.
